Premier has added a new packaging solution to its carton and graphical board portfolio with Performa Nova by Stora Enso (GC2). Enabled by the company’s patented FiberLight Tec technology, this lightweight, high performance folding boxboard (FBB) is designed for the dry, frozen and chilled food sectors as well as for chocolate and confectionery.

Manufactured at Stora Enso’s Oulu mill in northern Finland, Performa Nova (GC2) is made with traceable, renewable materials and comprises a triple coated top side and an uncoated reverse.

The production process also utilises FiberLight Tec technology, which offers maximum efficiency with less material, while maintaining its strength, lightness and a smooth aesthetic that supports optimal printability.

Premier is the exclusive merchant stockist for Performa Nova (GC2) within the UK and Ireland. The new grade is available in eight substances from 305 micron/200 g/m2 to 533 micron/315 g/m2. It is accessible from stock as FSC certified and hard sized.

Devised with food safety in mind, it can be used for dry, frozen and chilled goods and is Robinson certified for chocolate. It is also worth noting that any product purchased from Premier within the UK can be carbon captured, offsetting your CO2 emissions through its affiliation with The Woodland Trust.

‘We are delighted to have strengthened our relationship with Stora Enso and look forward to working with the company as a key supplier within our carton and graphical board division,’ said Duncan Green, sales director, Premier Board Division.
