When Antalis Packaging received a call from ‘Help NHS Heroes’ asking for a donation of boxes, its packaging team went into immediate action and delivered 1000 boxes to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage by the same afternoon.
In light of strains that NHS workers are facing, combined with shortages across the country for food and other essentials, Help NHS Heroes is setting up ‘pop-up’ shop/distribution points across the country at hospitals specifically for NHS staff.
Holly Jackson, sales manager for Antalis Packaging not only coordinated the delivery, but went the extra mile by volunteering at the Lister hospital pop-up tent to make up the food parcels for the day and help with their distribution. The food parcels contained enough food for two days and were distributed to key workers at the hospital.
Holly said, ‘We sprang into action for this worthy cause with the supply of boxes, tape and tape dispensers to help the charity assemble food packages as easily as possible. We are very proud, and honoured to have played a small part in managing to put a smile on our NHS heroes’ faces at this very difficult time.’
Antalis will continue to support Help NHS Heroes and is currently looking at how it can improve the boxes for future food distribution with the aid of hand-holds so that the boxes can be carried off site with ease.
