V Rοubis, the creator of bfresh spitiko, has partnered with DS Smith to develop innovative e-commerce packaging for three sets of existing juice products that are produced in glass bottles.
The two companies collaborated to develop a sustainable fibre based solution to replace previous packaging that had been used to hold the juice filled glass bottles and protect them during transportation.

The new packaging is comprised of fibre based corrugated cardboard with a robust and compact casing and a luxurious look and feel. This is in keeping with the brand’s ethos around the delivery of quality products, and the packaging solution also utilises as few materials as possible in order to increase the number of casements that can be packed and transported.
In addition, the corrugated cardboard casing includes a QR code that links to bfresh spitiko’s e-commerce platforms online, and a graphic design that is bold and eye catching for consumers to easily identify with.
The DS Smith design team applies its bespoke Circular Design Metrics (CDM) tools to measure and quantify the sustainability performance of each of the packaging solutions across eight key indicators. These include carbon footprint, reuse, supply chain optimisation, recyclability, material utilisation, and recycled content. The tools are intended to help brands and retailers compare sustainable design solutions, reduce waste and pollution, and keep materials in use for longer.

Vasilis Roubis, CEO and founder, bfresh spitiko, said: ‘We have loved the whole process of working with DS Smith to develop this new sustainable packaging solution for these popular e-commerce products, and we are proud to have shared in this expertise. We want to ensure that our packaging is of the best quality possible, and our customers expect us to meet these high standards too.’
George Filippoglou, cluster managing director, Packaging Division, DS Smith, said: ‘We are thrilled to be partnering with V Rοubis and bfresh spitiko on this innovative packaging solution. Our fibre based corrugated cardboard alternative has transformed the product casing, making it not only more compact and sustainable, but also easier to transport. It is a fantastic result, and customers can instantly recognise these products with a sense of quality and sustainability.’
