Mondi combines deep material expertise with a material neutral approach – selecting the right material for each application. It understands the packaging landscape at its core, with strong expertise in regulatory requirements such as the PPWR, awareness of market trends, and the ability to navigate external pressures.

At this year’s Fachpack, the company will showcase its innovative and diverse packaging range: from high barrier solutions for pet food, food and home and personal care, to fibre based alternatives for fast moving consumer goods, solid board and corrugated solutions for e-commerce and industrial applications.

‘Innovation at Mondi starts with collaboration,’ said Thomas Ott, CEO flexible packaging. ‘In our newly opened FlexStudios customers can actively participate in the innovation process, benefitting first hand from our extensive expertise and state of the art technology to drive sustainable change in the flexible packaging industry. The FlexStudios also include pilot lines for real time testing, allowing us to turn ideas into viable packaging solutions for our customers quickly and collaboratively. By bringing together customers, machinery partners and recyclers, we ensure that innovation is practical, scalable and tailored to real world needs.’

Another highlight at the booth will be Mondi MatchMaker, the company’s start up collaboration initiative. It connects early stage innovators with its business units through a structured framework that supports pilot development and scalable growth. Mondi MatchMaker will be part of the panel discussion at FuturePack 2025 on 22 September, where early stage founders can connect with players in the packaging industry. The company will also share a best practice example of its successful start up initiative at the ‘Innovation in practice’ networking event during Fachpack, on 23 September from 14 tp 16 CET at Innovationbox.

‘The acquisition of Schumacher Packaging’s operations in Western Europe significantly expands our corrugated capacity and capabilities,’ said Markus Gärtner, CEO corrugated packaging. ‘It allows us to offer customers an even broader range of sustainable packaging solutions, backed by enhanced supply security and local service. By combining our strengths, we can deliver more value and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of e-commerce, FMCG and industrial customers alike.’

Mondi’s product portfolio at Fachpack 2025:

re/cycle FunctionalBarrier Paper 95/5

Introducing the company’s range of barrier papers – the ideal packaging solution that offers high strength without compromising on sustainability. The extrusion coated papers are designed for recycling and run seamlessly on existing FFS packaging lines. They are also available in both white and brown to meet all packaging needs. Their strength allows for heavier filling weights, ensuring the products remain secure during transport and storage.

Ad/Vantage TrayWrap

Ad/Vantage TrayWrap is a secondary paper tray wrapping solution for stackable products on a tray. It is suitable for brick shaped products such as coffee vacuum packs, aseptic cartons or boxes as well as cylindrical shapes like glass jars, (beverage) cans or bottles. Replacing plastic shrink film with paper is another step towards making the supply chain more sustainable by saving over 75% CO2e and optimises your packing process by eliminating the shrink oven.

re/cycle Protective Mailer

re/cycle Protective Mailer is an innovative paper padded mailer for e-commerce deliveries, replacing plastic bubblewrap padding with its shock absorbent, fully paper based, protective padding. It is made from strong but lightweight kraft paper and open flute material and designed for circularity and recyclability. The mailers are available in standard and custom sizes, ensuring superior cushioning and adaptability while minimising excess packaging and reducing transport costs.

re/cycle FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate

re/cycle FunctionalBarrier Paper Ultimate is an ultra high barrier paper based packaging solution designed for recycling. It offers protection against oxygen, water vapour and grease, making it a sustainable alternative to conventional unrecyclable multilayer plastic or aluminium based structures. The product is perfectly suited for a wide range of applications including dried soups, spice blends, herbs, dessert mixes, dehydrated beverages, muesli bars, bouillon cubes, as well as coffee and tea.

Ad/Vantage Smooth White WS

Introducing the latest addition to Mondi’s smooth finished portfolio, Ad/Vantage Smooth White WS. It is a calendered white kraft paper with wet strength properties, made from bleached short and long fibre sulphate pulp. Ad/Vantage Smooth White WS is available in 50 g/m2 offering high strength and good printability. It is the ideal base paper for retail, food service and other applications requiring wet strength such as food grade interleaving paper.

TwinBox

A shelf ready packaging solution that can be easily transported and placed on shelves using smart gluing. For consumer goods, we offer – among other solutions – trays, small packs for fresh produce, shelf ready packaging for snacks and chilled foods, and premium displays that boost shelf impact. By drawing on the strength of corrugated board and the flexibility of solid board, Mondi is able to offer a portfolio of versatile, high performance solutions tailored to every product – whether consumer or industrial.
