Burgopak has created packaging with a playful touch for Thriva, the health platform that offers at home blood tests with personalised health insights.
The packaging slides open making the process of accessing the test kit more engaging.

The packaging also houses Thriva’s new auto-draw test kit. This marks a transition from the brand’s original finger prick blood collection to the innovative and user friendly Tasso device, which collects blood automatically and virtually painlessly from the user’s arm.
The Burgopak design team was tasked with finding an efficient way of packaging the device, which is significantly larger than the components found in a more traditional finger prick kit.
Careful consideration was taken to maximise the space available, by nesting the remaining test kit components around the collection device.

The small removable component holder is reused to protect the blood sample when posting it back to the lab, eliminating the need to return the entire box and thereby reducing postage costs for Thriva.
The packaging is robust enough for postal transport to the customer as well as the return of collected specimens to the lab, while adhering to the transport regulations concerning UN3373 Category B Substances.
After a successful trial run, the auto-draw test kit has been rolled out as the new standard, completely replacing the finger prick test.
Dan Ong, head of operations at Thriva, said: ‘The playful element to the opening experience was an important part of the original packs’ appeal – we wanted to make sure that was preserved in the new pack. We are delighted with the final product and packaging, which is getting very positive customer feedback.
‘The new device is helping to prevent tests being taken incorrectly and is also encouraging more repeat purchases. Taking a blood sample is now easier than ever – helping more people to start their journey towards better health and wellbeing.’
Alexander Parker, head of design, wellness, at Burgopak, said: ‘We have been lucky enough to collaborate with Thriva for several years on a variety of projects. Thriva’s dedication to supporting customers through every step of their journey is reflected in the packaging.
‘Our shared passion for the importance of packaging made it particularly exciting to be involved in the development of this new product, which is a core part of Thriva’s offering and a powerful brand and marketing asset.’
The Thriva pack is made from 265 g/m2 MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright.
