Sweet smell of sustainability for Sofi’s Cookies

Parkside has strengthened its partnership with Greek baker Sofi’s Cookies to create a plastic free paper pack for its individually wrapped cookie ranges.
The new packaging solution replaces the company’s previous compostable polymer wrapper, also produced by Parkside, offering a fully recyclable pack that is compatible with kerbside collection schemes. Crucially, the packs also deliver exceptional grease and oxygen barrier performance, which is essential to keep the cookies fresh while preventing the butter used in the recipe from staining the packaging during transit.

The cookies will be supplied to a luxury resort chain operating across Spain and Greece. Each pack will feature a vivid printed design carrying individual resort branding.
Ian McManus, sales account manager at Parkside, said: ‘It was a delight to work with the team at Sofi’s again, helping the company find the missing piece of its sustainable packaging puzzle. With evolving European legislation focusing heavily on recyclability, developing high end paper packaging is the ideal way for businesses to futureproof their products.
‘And, as this project proves, fully recyclable paper materials are perfect for high end, premium packaging applications. Sustainability and luxury don’t have to conflict with one another – they can work hand in hand. I want to thank the team at Sofi’s for letting us demonstrate this once again.’
Sofia Tselepidou, managing director at Sofi’s Cookies, added: ‘Our goal is to create joy with our delicious baked treats, and we want our packaging to reflect the care we pour into every bite. Having worked with the team before, we knew Parkside was the perfect match to bring our brand and our values to life through packaging.’
Sofi’s Cookies chocolate and vanilla cookies wrapped in Parkside compostable packaging are available now.
