Mondi has produced innovative packaging made of brown kraftliner with white digital printing for its long standing customer Riedel Glas to support the market launch of the All American Bourbon glass series.

The intricate design – with fine lines, small font sizes and integrated QR codes – places particularly high demands on print quality. When it comes to packaging printing, Mondi uses high performance digital printing, which is currently the most flexible technology on the market. This enables the precise and consistent reproduction of complex graphic elements on uncoated brown substrates.

With the recent investment in white digital printing at the company’s Ebersdorf site in Germany, the technology now delivers high opacity and sharp edges, enabling premium visual results on brown kraftliner.

Beyond visual quality, data to print technology offers additional functional advantages. Different print images can be produced within a single order, enabling regional variants or targeted designs without additional set up effort. Serialised barcodes or QR codes allow each individual package to be uniquely identified along the supply chain, improving traceability and supporting automated processes.

The result is a fully recyclable sales packaging solution that meets high design requirements while aligning with Riedel Glas’ quality expectations.
