Kurz Scribos has contributed its authentication expertise to ‘Les Anges Noirs,’ a limited edition cognac project created as part of the annual Les Liens Cognaçais collaboration.

This year's edition, created in collaboration with Château de Cognac and its cognac brand Baron Otard, brought together more than a dozen partner companies to produce just 370 premium presentation boxes.

Les Liens Cognaçais is an annual initiative that brings together key players from the French cognac industry, from bottle manufacturers and closure specialists to embellishment experts and presentation box producers. Together, they create a collaborative project that highlights the sector’s innovation, craftsmanship, and shared expertise.

For this project, Kurz Scribos developed an authentication solution that securely links each bottle to its certificate of authenticity while connecting collectors to an engaging digital experience.

A customised VeoMark hologram is applied to the neck of each bottle, while a second hologram carrying the same unique serial number is placed on the certificate of authenticity. Together, these matching security features create a secure link between the bottle and its certificate.

By comparing the two VeoMark holograms, collectors can verify that the bottle is authentic and confirm that the bottle and certificate have not been swapped. The serial number on the VeoMark applied to the bottle must match the one on the certificate, providing a simple and reliable way to confirm the authenticity of both.

Beyond protecting the integrity of each collector’s piece, the authentication solution enriches the collector experience through digital engagement. After verifying the bottle, collectors can scan the QR code on the certificate of authenticity to access exclusive digital content about the project, including behind the scenes insights and information about the companies involved in the collaboration.

By linking the physical bottle with digital content, the solution provides deeper insight into the story behind the project, the craftsmanship behind the edition, and the companies that helped bring it to life. In doing so, it helps preserve both the authenticity of each piece and the story behind its creation.

The Kurz Group contributed to the project through several complementary areas of expertise. Kurz France supplied the embellishment, Hinderer + Mühlich produced the embossing on the silver label, and Kurz Scribos delivered the security and authentication solution.

Together, these contributions combine decorative finishing, personalisation, and authentication to create a premium collector’s edition.
