Burgopak has launched a new piece of technology within its portfolio of value added packaging. Designed to work with almost any opening mechanism, the Halo device is a small retrofit lighting unit that illuminates and brings to life the contents of the box.

The small device is very simple, just two LEDs powered by a small battery, which is switched on when the box is opened. It projects a bright beam of light onto or around the product to amplify details such as colour, surface texture and reflective qualities.
There is great potential here for adding value to jewellery, cosmetics, metal bank cards, high end spirits and anything where colour, clarity and texture define the quality of the product.
As the Halo device is self-contained and retrofitted by clipping it into the packaging, it is easily removed to allow the rest to be recycled.Â

Burgopak says that it also likes the idea that the device itself could be used for other things such as illuminating a drawer or lighting up a doll’s house when the door is opened!
The device has passed all necessary regulatory testing and is now commercially available.
