As an employee owned business, Tomlinson is always looking at ways to improve its facilities, equipment and processes to continue delivering the quality our customers expect.

In recent months, the company been working on several innovative projects, with some now nearing completion and many more already in development. As demand continues to grow for foil and embossing dies, particularly within the luxury packaging and label sectors, Tomlinson remains focused on investing in the right technology.

Continued improvements across the factory, as well as renovating key areas to create a more efficient, modern and comfortable working environment for the co-owners, have been taking place. The aim is simple, to create a more efficient working environment, improve the flow of production and provide its teams with the space and equipment they need to do their jobs effectively.

As part of this, a new etching bath has now been installed and commissioned, providing additional capacity and helping us manage production more effectively.

Production manager Tris Simpson commented, ‘The new etching bath has made a significant difference to how we manage production. It has improved workflow, given the team greater flexibility when planning work and allows us to respond more effectively to customer requirements while maintaining the quality and service our customers expect.’

Tomlinson works closely with designers, brand owners and print partners from the beginning of each project. By reviewing artwork early and discussing the technical considerations involved, it can help identify potential challenges and ensure the final results stays true to the original creative vision.

One of the best examples of what can be achieved through collaboration is Project Mythos, which received an excellent response from customers across the label industry. The project showcased the quality and precision of its foil and embossing capabilities, while also highlighting the importance of involving specialist die makers early in the design process.

Alongside these developments, the company is also putting the finishing touches to its new brochure.
